Adult Care Homes
There are many different terms for Adult Care Homes. Coastal Care Homes uses the term "Adult Foster Care". We provide Level 1, 2 or 3 care. Other terms used include "private senior care home", "Personal Care Homes", "Residential Care" and "Adult Family Care Homes".
Every Adult Care Home is a little different. Some will care for only men, while others take only women. Some cannot accept people in wheelchairs, or will not take insurance or state patients. Some specialize in Alzheimer's and Memory Loss Care. Some will take small pets or offer a covered area for smokers.
In most cases, an adult care home is a private residence designed to meet the varying care needs of the elderly. Residents can enjoy living in a comfortable family-style setting while receiving individual, personalized care. Adult Care Homes tend to blend in with the neighborhood but can be quite different on the inside, with extra bathrooms, bedrooms, and safety features required by the State or local governing entities.
